I
signed up for your (newsletter)…for 1 mo. Be sure to renew me for 6
months....(And) if you ever come to Panama, don't even bother bringing your
wallet. Everything is on me. - G, L,
LOL....Thank you! We've had a good month. We're
up over 40 units from April 10 through May 7, but just try to remember how
"smart" we seem now when the next losing streak grabs us. What people think
of us sometimes depends on when they subscribe to our newsletter! We're not
as 'good' as we seem now, and we're not as 'bad' as we seem in the midst of
a losing streak. Timing can have a big effect. - J. R.

What the
hells going on? Do you have tomorrow mornings paper? Nobody can be this good
at baseball. I love it!!!!!!!! Your take on todays Cleveland game
(in
PROFESSIONAL GAMBLER Newsletter)
was perfect!!!!! I've never made a run like this in my entire life! Keep up
the great work!!! - Gary Z.
Thanks for the note....We've been having one of
our greatest runs ever against baseball, no doubt. A $110 bettor would be up
'way over $4,000 so far this season. Maybe all that extra time spent on
those Excel spreadsheets in the off-season is paying off.

.....This note...has to do with the differences...we (subscribers) can
enjoy in comparison to the lines posted in the newsletter and website...
Yesterdays recommended parlay of the Tigers over the Rangers @ +153
(coupled with) the UNDER in (that same) game @12.0 +100, wound up being a
tie in your newsletter and website. However, I (got) the Tigers at +150
AND the UNDER at 12.5+100. A difference of roughly +2.35 units!
Subscribers certainly can enjoy better results than the
newsletter...! By the way, this is not the first time, nor do I think it'll
be the last, this has happened.
Thanks for noticing. You're right,
of course. Having the ability to shop gives subscribers an advantage over
the lines in our newsletter. We use morning lines published at pinnacle.com
and/or canbet.com and/or wsex.com, and we feel obligated to stick with those
lines when we "count the corpses." If that total had been 12.5 in the
morning, we'd have "made" 3.21 units yesterday instead of only 0.68 units.

(This letter
is)...to all your (newsletter) subscribers,
I've been a bookmaker for the better part of 15 years. I've seen just
about everything when it comes to the sports gaming industry. I thought I
knew just about everything when it came to betting on sports. I'm currently
in charge of one of the biggest offshore books in the world! Yes, it's on
the Don Best feed! One night I happened to stumble across J.R.'s newsletter.
Once I started reading I couldn't stop! I'm not ashamed to say, in one
night I learned more about sports betting than my previous 15 years as a
bookie!
Like most bookies in the industry I get down on my share of games!
After two weeks of following J.R.'s handicapping I put my ego aside and gave
him a shot! After receiving his picks for some two weeks monday night
football rolled around. For some reason I didn't get my daily dosage of J.R.!
On a whim I decided to call the # given on the newsletter. As luck would
have it J.R. answered the phone. This very busy man spent more than 20
minutes talking to me about the science of betting sports! He offered
information as if we were friends for years! Yes, J.R. is a business man
like most of us! Yes, he wants to sell his picks. However, J.R.'s picks is
not what sold me, it's his HONESTY and INTEGRITY that makes him the real
deal! Thanks.

Hey
JR, any chance of you doing a seminar or class any time in the future in
Vegas or Reno? I'd even fly down to attend. Best regards, Jesse F. K.
Thanks for your interest, but, nawww, no seminars
are being considered. I'm having too good a life here in Tennessee. I am,
however, working on a new book about sports betting that will be the most
comprehensive work I've seen. - J. R.

I
just stumbled onto your site! It seems nice, and it will take me a while to
read all that you have up there! I like how you post your record, and your
daily plays once they go off. I can't believe some guys would bash you for
losing! If they could pick winners, they wouldn't be here in the first
place! Everyone wants 100% winners! I look forward to checking in to see how
you do! - Eric A.
Thanks for taking the time to write.

Just
started checking out your website. How come you don't show a history of your

Also, would make it easier to check out your last 100 - 200 picks as you
recommend in your page. Regards, Tim M.

Would
you please help me understand how to handicap money lines. I handicap my
own games vs the point spread and totals but I really am having a hard
time changing them into the money line. For instance, if I have the
Spurs/Celtics game tonight at a (-7) and the line is (-3.5) I know I
have some value in my favor but I am not sure how to change the -7 into
an accurate money line. If you check the sports book money lines you
are liable to get it anywhere from 160 to 190. Obviously I would want
the 160 if I am betting on the Spurs but How do I know what kind of
value I am getting. I also know I have to win this bet 62% of the time
to beak even but I would like to know how to mathematically make my own
money line. It is just really hard to find someone who is a pro that is
willing to help and you are the only one who has helped in the past. In
other words, your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Warren M.
In that particular game we were on the Celtics +144.0.......If I HAD
handicapped the Spurs at -7.0, I would have laid the -3.5 rather than
the moneyline. I'm reluctant to lay a lot of money on favorites. I tend
to stick with pointspreads when I'm betting on favorites. I like
moneylines when I'm using small dogs, maybe +5.0 or smaller. Generally,
if an underdog is getting up to 5 points, and our own handicapping is
predicting they will win the game outright, we will often use the
moneyline.
Check our
Moneyline Conversion Chart on
our web site for help converting pointspreads to winning percentages and
approximate moneylines, but there's a lot of subjectivity to our own
decisions.

.....Which candidate (McCain or Obama) will
help me get back my right to gamble? -
Marcus
The Libertarian
candidate, Bob Barr, is the only candidate that makes sense to us.
There's no real
differences between Republicans and Democrats. Check the recent
trillion-dollar bail-out.
Both the two main parties have evolved into
socialists. Only Libertarians fought against the bail-out and continue
to fight for individual rights, including our rights to privacy, and
that includes gambling.
One vote for the two main
parties won't make any difference anyway. A vote for them is wasted. One
vote for the Libertarian Party is one percent of 100 votes, one vote
AGAINST the Police State that is strangling us. If a third party can win 10%-15%
of the vote, at least some news media might mention it. Check these web sites:

Hello,
I read your book,
(by J.R. MIller), and signed up to your newsletter a couple of weeks
ago. I plan to renew when the time comes. Could you please tell me how
you traditionally do in hockey? What was your record in units won last
season? Do you feel you are better at sides or totals? Also the same
question for baseball. What was your record in units won last
season? Do you feel you are better at sides or totals? Also the same
question for the NBA. What was your record in units won last
season? Do you feel you are better at sides or totals? Thanks! And I
thought your book was really great. Very educational, informative and
interesting. Best regards,
John C.
By the way, nice job on the NFL today......
John: Against
the NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB we expect a win percentage equal to "11-10"
bets of 54%-57% over the long term. The win percentage is roughly the
same for all sports, even though some sports are "easier to beat" than
others. The difference between "easy" sports and those that are
"toughest to beat" shows up in their "bets-per-game" ratios. Over 100
NHL games we have fewer plays than we do over 100 NFL games. That would
mean that the NHL is "tougher" to beat than the NFL, even though the win
percentages are expected to be the same. (Please check our article,
What's Your Record?) - J. R.

Hey
JR,
I hope you are well.
I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you that I
finally figured out after all these years what an “affiliate” is. I
went on some of the sports book sites and saw that an affiliate with
sports book banners would allow someone to profit from players
LOSSES. So these Touts that sell picks or the sites with even free
picks make money on a players losses. Well I know you don’t allow
sports book banners and that in itself should tell people that
your site is not a scam…Best regards, Max F.
Max: Nice
to hear from you....You're right about "affiliates." We've been
offered as much as 30% of what players LOSE after signing up to
"affiliated" sportbooks. It's clearly a conflict of interest.
